Rigorous wood hardscape draws the eye to the horizon line well. The gaping sides, while interesting, can make the woodwork seem detached and separate from the substrate layer, which then makes the aquascape seem a bit contrived. For the illusion to be complete, all elements need to come together seamlessly. Overall, still a very good aquascape.
