Maintenance routine
Each week I siphon out 20–30 % of the tank and replace it with remineralised RO water, keeping parameters stable and free of tap-water pollutants; during the same session I run a algae scraper over every viewing pane to prevent algae from gaining a foothold and vacuum the substrate to lift detritus before it decays. Every second week, after the water change, I prune and reshape the stem plants, thin out mosses, and remove any dying leaves so that light and flow reach the lower layers and nutrients aren’t wasted on exhausted growth. While trimming I also inspect equipment—cleaning filter intakes, rinsing pre-filters in old tank water, checking heater and CO₂ levels, and wiping down light fixtures—so that the whole system stays efficient, tidy, and crystal-clear for both fish and plants.
Description
"The Verdant Labyrinth" is a living dream—a green maze sculpted from nature’s own hand, where ancient driftwood arches rise like forgotten ruins cloaked in thick moss, and every crevice breathes with shadow and life. This aquascape conjures the mystery of an overgrown forest, long reclaimed by time and nature. The moss-laden branches form tunnels and chambers, their dark hollows inviting exploration, while the vibrant greens spill over every surface in wild elegance.

Below, a winding path of pale sand slices through the dense undergrowth like a trail worn by unseen forest dwellers. Flanked by delicate grasses and low-growing foliage, the path leads the eye into the heart of the scape, where soft light filters in like sunlight piercing a jungle canopy. A silent school of fish glides through this aquatic grove like spirits guarding a forgotten secret.
