Mr. Bitter served as a juror for the IAPLC from 2011 to 2020, during which time he made a special effort to ensure that the layout considered the needs of fish and invertebrates. His preference among aquatic plants is for mosses, to which he has already dedicated a book of his own.
Since the end of the 80s he has been selling rare ornamental fish and invertebrates in his company Bitter Exotics, meanwhile also with the online store getshrimp.de. Through his journalistic work as editor-in-chief of the German and American editions of AMAZONAS magazine, he is also heavily involved in aquaristics and focuses on all aspects of this wonderful hobby. It´s all about harmony!
